Professor Kow Celebration

After an exceptional career dedicated to improving the lives of countless patients, we recently had the privilege of celebrating the semi retirement of one of our much-loved surgeons, Professor Lilian Kow.

Having spent the majority of her career serving patients at Flinders Private Hospital, her semi retirement marks the end of an era. Throughout the years, she has been recognised not only for her outstanding surgical expertise but also for her compassion, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to patient care. Her contributions have left a lasting impact on colleagues, staff, and the many individuals whose lives she has touched.

To honour her remarkable career, Flinders Private Hospital hosted a celebratory luncheon attended by colleagues, friends, and members of the wider healthcare team. It was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on her many achievements and to celebrate the relationships she built over decades of dedicated service.

The afternoon featured a heartfelt speech from her long-time colleague Dr Jacob Chisholm, who shared highlights from Lilian’s career, expressed their gratitude, and acknowledged the significant influence she has had on both the profession and those fortunate enough to work alongside her. The hospital’s General Manager also delivered a touching tribute, recognising her outstanding contribution to the organisation and the legacy she leaves behind.

We extend our sincere thanks for her years of service and wish her every happiness, good health, and fulfilment in her well-earned semi retirement. Congratulations on an extraordinary career—we hope this next chapter is every bit as rewarding as the one you’ve just completed.
